53rd Annual San Marcos River Rendezvous and Cleanup

The Results Are In….

Saturday’s Cleanup:  200 volunteers cleaned the river from Rio Vista Dam in San Marcos all the way to Palmetto State Park – 60 miles of river in one day!  Tom & Paula Goynes hosted over 10 of the section groups at their campground, the San Marcos River Retreat, and everyone enjoyed delicious BBQ provided by expert PitMasters George and Ann Grant. Made possible through the generous support of donors who made the meal possible, George Peacock, Mike McClabb, Frank Ohrt, and Duane and Evelyn TeGrotenhuis, the Texas Canoe and Kayak Association and TRPA.

Sunday’s activities included the TRPA annual meeting: Over 25 people joined in person with 8 on the Zoom bridge for the annual meeting of the membership. One of the main agenda items was to announce the new Board of Directors. TRPA welcomes new Board members and expresses a huge THANK YOU to retiring Board Members.
