The San Marcos River is the site of The Great Texas River Clean Up, aka San Marcos River Clean Up. It is held annually on the first Saturday of March. 1972 is the first documented San Marcos River Clean Up. Happy 51st Birthday!

Organize a River Clean Up

Texas Rivers wants to help start river cleanups on all the rivers of Texas. If you would like to organize a cleanup on your local favorite section of a Texas river, please send along some details and we will personally consult with you at no charge. We will assign an experienced cleanup coordinator to assist you. Please contact us.
