Q1 ACA Instructor Certification Classes

TRPA supports safe paddling through proper paddling instruction. You have an opportunity to increase your knowledge and expertise from ACA certified Instructor Trainers.

In a Kayaking Instructor certification course you will refine your paddling and rescue skills, expand your technical knowledge, demonstrate group management and teaching ability. The L1 Certification is appropriate for flat water paddling on generally protected waterways such as lakes and calm rivers. The L2 Coastal class is ideal for those wanting to paddle on lakes, calm protected ocean environments, and other flatwater settings These certifications are ideal for individuals interested in furthering their paddling knowledge and/or associated with camps, parks and recreation departments interested in offering kayak program instruction.

ACA Level 1 Introduction to Paddling Instructor Certification: This is a two 2 day course scheduled Tuesday January 27 and Wednesday January 28th, 2026 at McKinney Roughs Nature Preserve. Includes Paddlesport Safety Facilitator Assessment Certification.

ACA Level 2 Costal Kayaking Instructor Certification: This course four (4) day course will take place Tuesday, February 3rd through Friday, February 6th, 2026 at Camp Mohawk County Park.
