Twentieth Annual Medina River Cleanup August 22, 2026

Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026

Location: Bandera River Park (at the dam)

Cleanup Registration: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • 9:00 – 10:00 AM: Paddlers
  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Everyone else

Breakfast tacos provided.
Registration for paddlers is scheduled for 9 a.m., at the 11th Street entrance to the city park. Those planning to paddle should contact one of seven section heads below to ensure a safe trip.
Paddlers are asked to bring their own canoes and coordinate with the section head before cleanup day to arrange for the shuttle.
Kayaks are also available at the Medina River Company on Main in Bandera, by calling owner Colby Miller at 830-796-3600.

Barbecue Dinner: 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Bandera River Park (at the dam)

Paddlers should contact the head of the section they choose to paddle to arrange for canoes and shuttles at 9 am registration:

Section 4:

Those working river sections should show up at 9:00 A.M. to meet their section head.

Those working banks and crossings should show up at park between 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. for assignments from Bob Brischetto (210) 413-7264, rrbrischetto@gmail.com

Section heads will:

  • Recruit paddlers and coordinate the shuttle for your section.
  • Receive and join to your section any requests by phone or email from people who want to join you.
  • Meet the paddlers in your section at 9 am at the registration and arrange shuttle. See that those paddling your section stay together and are safe.
  • Bring in trash to Bandera City Park at the dam at the end of paddling.
  • Call Bob at 210-413-7264 to report location of any trash unable to carry back to park.
