Community Meeting for State Park and River Protection
This decision will shape the Glen Rose community for generations. Join us February 3rd at 6:30PM in Glen Rose. Excerpts from Dinovalleyalliance.com
The Paluxy River Protection Alliance is holding a forum to educate the community about the proposed Oncor Dinosaur–Longshore transmission line. This new line poses long-term risks to Dinosaur Valley State Park and surrounding resources. Residents are worried that the State Park biodiversity and river habitats will be threatened by a proposed high-voltage transmission line with massive towers that would partially encircle the 1,580-acre park southwest of Fort Worth. With less than one month left to respond, now is the time to show up and make our voices heard.
The Dinosaur-Longshore line is a high-capacity transmission line that Oncor intends to build as part of the PUCT Permian Basin Reliability Plan. One of the options Oncor has mapped out would create a 200-foot, clear-cut passage near Glen Rose and along two sides of Dinosaur Valley State Park.
