Hidalgo Falls Texas River Festival 2023

Hidalgo Falls Kayak Instruction, 2020

Join TRPA members and paddling enthusiasts for a weekend of skills development, river paddling, friendship, outdoor film festival and all-around paddlesport camaraderie.

Learn to kayak, read the river, plan a trip, and talk to experts! Activity options include river paddle with shuttle services, general and targeted seminars to improve your skills both in the water and on land. Land-based seminars are free with the standard $40 registration. Equipment rentals will be available.

One or two nights’ camping included at the Hidalgo Falls shaded campground with full toilet and shower facilities.  Tent camping and RV camping are encouraged, but no hookups. Register and buy your tickets here as soon as possible. Call or text 713-828-7582 for info on RV camping.

Festival Admission
Festival admission includes participation in all land based seminars and 1 night of camping. Additional nights can be purchased at check-in. Admission includes 2 nights for TRPA members only.

Includes Festival admission and participation in Saturday only on-water paddling skills development. Participants must choose either River Canoe or River Kayaking curriculum.

1 Day Beginner Kayak Instruction Package
Includes Festival admission and participation in a 1 day Introduction to Kayaking class. Must specify either Saturday or Sunday session. Includes both land-based and on-water instruction. Class duration dependent on class size, estimated between 4-5 hours.

Basic Strokes Clinic
Work with an ACA Level 2 River Essentials and USA Canoe certified instructors to fine tune your stroke mechanics. Does not include Festival Admission – This is a 90 minute session, time and day TBD.
