Holiday Greetings and a great New Year.
I’m not going to go so far as to wish for world peace, but I do wish for rain and for rivers that continue to flow. And I pray that we will still be able to do our part in keeping them clean and open to the public.
I want to thank you for your support in keeping this organization going. We couldn’t do it without you.
We do have some major work ahead. Our goal is to clean up Hidalgo Falls. We our committed to returning the property to pristine condition, and to operate it in the manner that its founder, the late Steve Daniel intended.
We have an election coming up at our annual meeting in March. Four board positions are available. There isn’t a lot of commitment required: we try to meet in person at the annual meeting, once a year. And, if you cant make it in person you can Zoom. And then we might meet by Zoom a couple of times. The term is 3 years. If you are interested in serving let me know. I am on the nominations committee. I can get you on the ballot.
Save the date: the San Marcos Clean Up and party is set for Saturday, March 7. The annual meeting will be held on Sunday in the chapel at the San Marcos River Retreat. We usually start around the meeting around 9 am. I will host a short worship service at 8. We will have coffee and sweet stuff.
If you would like to make a year end contribution you can do it online on our website: txrivers.org
